Sports with Values

To me, a body and a soul with a sharp mind is never complete without a strong body. Those are values fit to tell the youth of the new generation. As I have observed it, I see the youth more of a mentally competitive. As time passes by, I see the world evolving in to a completion of the smart and intelligent, while the youth engaging to sports and physical exertion are depleting in number. So the reaction of the society and the community is to held sports engaging event to sharpen not only the mind of the youth but also strengthen the body. One of these events is the intramurals held at our school; the given event is beneficial not only to the strengthening of one’s body but also sharpen one’s values. Sports aren’t all about the body and mind working together but also to teach life lessons and values to the participants. The intrams should be the one to teach the youths of our school many values and different skills that the classroom couldn’t teach within its room but instead values taught in the field of sports. One of those skills is leadership skills, skills that are quite important to us science students. We are taught to be young leaders if so we’d grow up into successful people part of pioneering the community. And leadership also calls to take part in giving society improvements in which is our school’s goal, bringing up students that are inclined in many ways. Another thing is sportsmanship. In a classroom, no one could teach sportsmanship to students but themselves and experience. Being able to accept the result or outcome of something even how horrible it is for them to accept is sportsmanship. It is maybe that it may be taught by teachers what sportsmanship is but it can’t be given, it is learned and applied by the students. So for me as a student, sports play an important role in molding the youth not only by strengthening the body but also to strengthen the heart and soul.
