A Laughing Ending For Verona's Lover

The ending of Romeo and Juliet was tragic. An ending for me is a happy or joyous ending. What the Romeo and Juliet lacks is a relief from pressure their family give to them. Juliet would found herself struggling to free herself from her Father’s will in marrying Paris. Then Juliet went to Lord Capulet asking “Oh Father, may I ask a question to you…” and lord Capulet said, “Anything dear except in the question if you could still decline your marriage to Paris.” Then giggling Juliet asked, “Why father are we, the Capulet’s, are in feud with the Montague’s?” then lord Capulet looked bewildered then stared at the window so distantly looking the mountains “Dear Juliet, as I have remember it, we the Capulet’s are known to own half the lands of Verona, starting to the east is our land. Though, the Montague owns the land from the west. The Montague insisted that their land is up to the river bank which is our property and we had battled them for our land as we insisted that our land is up to the green Pasteur which is truly ours. For the both of our family don’t know the boundary of their lands. We have not known up till now the boundary of our land. We became enemies for the land we rightfully owe.”

Then Juliet thought… “What if Father, What if the both of you could just share the both lands EQUALLY?” again Father Capulet looked at Juliet at first he looked baffled, and then amazed “Why my dear daughter I have not thought of that.” With bright wide smile Juliet rose up and said “then it is settled then, tomorrow at the town court we shall break the conflict that brought discord to our family and the Montague.” Said Juliet and later on that night, Juliet sent her nurse to ask Prince Escalus to be the judge of the said tribunal. Juliet also told Nurse to tell Romeo what would happen tomorrow. As Nurse saw Romeo passing by her way, “Oh Romeo, Romeo!” then Romeo was struck to the voice that called him. “Oh Juliet is that you!” then Nurse was redden of the compliment she just heard “Oh Romeo, this is Juliet’s Nurse. How flattering it is to be compared to an Angel, well I was just here to tell you about the Tribunal for tomorrow, it concerns the families of Montague and Capulet. We hope that you and your family would cooperate." at first Romeo was speechless then he agreed.

At the court, the two families are throwing insults and curses and rebuttals while the two lovers are forcing silence to both sides. The time had come where they were actually to give their statements they were silent, it was the oldest citizen of Verona, and she said “when… I was still a … young maiden like this Juliet we have…” her statement were so long and she spoke so slow that it took ten hours for her to finish. When she was finished, the judge asked “What exactly is point of your statement against the two families?” the woman was shocked and replied ‘I don’t know I thought I was called to tell the story of my life.” All was shocked in dismay. They took the lady out of the court and just let Lord Montague to speak. “Here is my land!” he bellowed while pointing to the map…… etc. and more court fight that ended in a conclusion, they would share the land equally. They have agreed. Juliet marries Romeo and they lived happily ever after.
